Sims 2 Download Mac !!INSTALL!!

A few days ago i decided to buy the sims2 from the App Store (now with 50% off). Unfortunately, I am not able to buy the game from the App Store because "the article is being adjusted". The App Store tells me to try again later but three days later it still doesn't work. Does anyone have the same problem or could it be a specific problem with my MacBook? Operating system El Captain 10.11.3.

Having trouble with your games not loading in Origin? Repair Game checks your game's installation and then automatically downloads any replacement or missing files. If there are any file issues or corrupt files, it will replace them or download them again.

I am attempting to install custom content for the Sims 2 on my MacBook. The game, newly installed, runs perfectly. I used to play the Sims 2 on my PC, and when I downloaded custom content all I had to do was double click on the file I downloaded and a blue window would pop up where I'd select "install content", and if successful, it would automatically show up in my game. However, now that I have a new MAC, it never gives me that option. I created a "Downloads" folder in my EA Games/Sims 2 folder. When I download a file, typically a rar or sims2pack, I place it in that folder. However, when I click on the downloaded file, nothing happens. I even downloaded an app to "extract" the rar or sims2pack files and when I double click on them it STILL doesn't do anything. It's as if my game doesn't recognize that the files are there at all. I have definitely checked to make sure that the "enable custom content" button is turned "on" in the game settings. HELP! What am I missing? I'm so confused.

@cincygal419 , you need to install the Package Installer before you can add CC to your Sims 2 game. When you launch Sims 2 Super Collection, you should see an option to download Body Shop and Package Installer. Click on the Download button and it should allow you to download and install the programs. Then, when you click on the Sims2pack file, it should automatically launch Package installer.

@mattyedge696 , when you download CC for Sims 2, the CC (unless otherwise noted by the creator) should show as the following formats ("CC name.sims2pack" or "CC name.package"). When you have the Aspyr Package Installer program loaded make sure it points directly to your Downloads folder in your Sims 2 folder. The Sims 2 files for the Mac are hidden in your Library folder instead of in the Documents folder.

To find your Library folder, click on your Desktop, find the "Go" command at the top in the Finder, hold your cursor button over Go and press the Option key on your keyboard and Library will show when you do that. Scroll through the Library folders until you find one called "com.aspyr.sims2.appstore" and open the folder. You should see two files in there and open the Data File. From there, locate another file named "Library" and then in that file you should should find another Aspyr folder which when opened will reveal the Sims 2 folder (exactly like the original game and on the Windows side). From there check to see if you have a folder named "Downloads" and if you do not, simply create one. This is where all your CC and Mods will be stored.

If your CC has the ".sims2pack" extension, you will have to use the Package Installer to "uncompress" the file to now show the ".Package" extension. All CC in the game must have the ".package" extension to run.

Before when I would download CC on my Mac I would always do it through the downloads forder it always worked before that. Now I got a newer version laptop same Mac for some reason it doesn't work that way. And to locate the sims 2 folder was a missing cuz it wasn't in EA games.Even if I add a downloads folder and copy paste cc it doesn't wanna put it into the game. So please if you can help reach out to me ASAP.

@SzitaJulia , if you read my previous post I said that the folder was located in your Library folder not Documents folder which was previously the case. You need to make sure you download and install the Package Installer from Aspyr.

The main part of the game is to lead a Sim from the start of life to death. A Sim will be born when a female Sim and a male Sim try for a baby several times. The mother will spend 3 Sim days (each day lasts 24 minutes though time can be sped-up) pregnant before giving birth to a baby.[9] During Pregnancy, the belly does not expand gradually. Instead, every day, it "pops" to a bigger size. Players can name the new Sim upon birth. The baby's appearance and personality will be based on the genetics of its parents (though the baby's appearance is hidden until it becomes a toddler). Babies can also be adopted by calling adoption service on the phone, even by single parents, old age sims or same-gender couples. The baby will change into a toddler in 3 days, and 4 more days for the toddler to change into a child. After 8 days, the child grows into a teenager, and will live 15 days before changing into an adult. After 29 days, the Sim will become an elder. An elder will eventually die; the length of this final stage depends on the aspiration bar when they become an elder.

On December 15, 2012, Electronic Arts announced that the official website would be shut down on January 14, 2013. It is now no longer possible to download content from the official site, create exchanges, or participate in the official forum communities.[24]

On July 16, 2014, Electronic Arts announced the end of support for The Sims 2. As a response The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection was released at the same time as a limited time offer. The game became available for free download from Origin exclusively following an announcement by EA that they would no longer be supporting the Game.[25] This offer ended at 10:00 PDT July 31, 2014.[26][27][28]

On August 7, 2014, Aspyr Media released The Sims 2: Super Collection as digital download exclusively available at the Mac App Store; the game was updated for OS X Mavericks, 4K and Retina. This compilation only includes the first six expansion packs and the first three stuff packs. Aspyr stated they were unable to include the remaining packs for the game due to licensing conflicts with EA. Like the Ultimate Collection, no new updates on when the remaining packs will be released separately or as a single add-on to the Super Collection have emerged.

The Sims 2's malleable content and open-ended customization have led to controversy on the subject of pay sites.[59] Custom content is distributed through independent websites, some of which charge for downloading materials. Charging money for custom content is considered a violation of the game's EULA,[60] which prohibits the commercial use of Electronic Arts' intellectual property.

This is nonsense. We've reviewed 100 percent of the content. There is no content inappropriate for a teen audience. Players never see a nude Sim. If someone with an extreme amount of expertise and time were to remove the pixels, they would see that the sims have no genitals. They appear like Ken and Barbie.

The Game Boy Advance version of The Sims 2 takes place in Strangetown, and shares a similar GUI to its predecessors (The Sims Bustin' Out and The Urbz). Players are guided through a goal-oriented game based on the reality television concept in which partitions of the game are divided into "episodes". Characters from the previous handheld sims games also appeared.

Most of expansion packs and stuff packs were released with pre-order items. This game content was redeemable at the official site using a code supplied by the retailer from which the player purchased, each retailer was often associated with an exclusive download. A total of 60 pre-order items were released.

The Sims 2 Store was an online store where players of The Sims 2 for PC could purchase and download content for their game online for additional fees. It offered objects, clothing, skins, and hairstyles that are both exclusive to the store and also come from earlier expansion and stuff packs.

It also had featured seven exclusive item collections that could only be found in the store. The store used a point system that players can purchase. It was opened from July 2008 to March 31, 2011, as a beta version limited to the United States and Canada. To download, players must install The Sims 2 Store Edition and the EA Download Manager. The exclusive collections were "Cubic", "Art Deco", "Spooky", "Castle", "Asian Fusion", "Art Nouveaulicious" and "Oh Baby", including a total of 471 items.

Running the Super Collection on Mac? Open Finder. Select "Go" in the toolbar at the top of your screen, hold down Option, and select "Library". Open the folder labeled Containers, then com.aspyr.sims2.appstore, then Data, then Library. Open Application Support, then Aspyr, and then The Sims 2. Your game's Downloads folder will be located in there.
